Lyme Regis

Last weekend was a bank holiday weekend here in the UK. As well as having the Monday off, Mel and I managed to get Friday off, so we decided to head to the South West Coast and hope for good weather!

Mel and I arrived in Lyme Regis (Dorset) at around midday on the Friday and Pete arrived in the early hours of Saturday morning, having had to work that day.

We were so lucky with the weather all weekend - it got up to mid twenties on Sunday, which was the best day!

Lyme Regis - this part of the coast is known as the Jurassic Coast - due to all the fossils on the beach (rocks, not people!)

This part of the Lyme Regis beach is sand!! Quite amazing for the UK. However, we believe it has been brought in artificially!

View back along the coast from a walk we did

All the lamp posts have 'fossils' in them!

Traditional English beach huts!

Church outside our apartment. We thought it was really quaint - until the bells started early on Sunday morning!

As soon as we heard of this village, we just HAD to go!!

View of Beer from the carpark!

Pretty row of terraces overlooking the beach in Beer
