My Apartment!

Here are some photos of my apartment in New York!

I live on Roosevelt Island, which is in the East River, between Manhattan and Queens. I can get to Manhattan on either the bus, subway (1 stop) or an overhead tram.

The island is pretty cool - lots of grass & trees etc, so it feels like you are escaping the city a little! I have a nice view to Manhattan over the river.

This is one of the four Manhattan Park buildings. I think this is actually my building. If so, then the photographer is standing in a little park that is outside and he is facing the East side of the building. I am on the South side.

Taken from entrance - looking towards Manhattan. Kitchen is on my left. You can just see the main UN building in the distance through the window - it is in between the middle narrow space.

Wall behind couches is also the wall of my bedroom.

My stunning pieces of carpentry (bookshelves and TV stand)! Photo's don't actually do the bookshelves justice - they both have a really nice slant to them!!

Another bookcase that I assembled. Photo still doesn't pick up the true beauty of the slant!

Welcome to my Blog!

Following my brother Phil's idea, I have decided to create my own blog so I can share some of my photos and experiences of living overseas.

I will add some of my favourite photos that I have taken during my time away over the next few weeks - hope you enjoy seeing them!
