Dubrovnik, Croatia

After our whirlwind trip of Turkey, we spent 5 nights in Dubrovnik for some well earned rest! We had a couple of really nice sunny days, but also had a couple of pretty miserable days as well. We weren't able to do any day trips that we were intending to, however we did come back nice and relaxed, so time well spent!!

Turkey - Magic Carpet Tour!

Just back from a two week trip during which time we went on a tour of Turkey and then relaxed in Croatia! I took loads of photos and so I won't worry too much about giving you all the details - will just show you the pics!

Respect for Mehmetçik - statue depicting the respect each side had for the other. It is inspired by the aftermath of a battle, during a brief ceasefire for each side to recover the bodies of the fallen. One badly injured Allied solider was too close to the Turkish troops, but was in agony. A white flag rose from the Turkish trenches and a Turkish solider picked him up and carried him back to the Allied trench.
