Hudson River Valley

Two of my friends from London were visiting this past week and we took the opportunity to take a trip out of New York City and into the Hudson River Valley - about a 2hr train ride north.

We took the metro-north train from Grand Central to Poughkeepsie and from there we hired a car to drive around in.

The Autumn colours, for which the area is well-known, were at their peak the weekend before. However, we still saw some amazing colours. As is always the way, the photos below don't do the scenery justice, but you will get a good idea of what it was like.

Deer. He just stood there and let me take several photos of him and then he must have had enough as he just slowly wandered off!

Abstract! Not really sure what this is! It was done as an accident, but I think it is kinda cool!

Autumn in Central Park

It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday, so I took myself off to Central Park to see the Autumn colours.

As you will see from the photos, the colours are only just starting to turn. However, next weekend I am heading upstate where the colours are more advanced.

I will post more photos the week after next, after my trip away.
